Kastel Sucurac was mentioned for the first time in 1392 when Gvardo, an archbishop from Split ordered the building of a fortified tower in order to protect the fieldworkers from the settlement Putalj. Later on, during the History Of Town Kastel Sucurac in 1488 the archbishop Alverado built his summer house-castle nearby which was protected from the land by the walls and its southern side was oriented towards the sea. The southern side had large luxurious glass windows and a spacious Gothic style square. In order to have an interesting and rich urban life, the local people built numerous houses and churches made of stone.
