Town Kastel Novi is situated near the sea in the Kastela field. It was named after the tower, built in the year1512 by a nobleman Pavao Cipiko from town Trogir. Town Kastel Novi is a modern settlement which development is based on tourism, trade and transport.

History of Town Kastel Novi recorded that town emerged near a square fortress tower built in 1512 by Pavao Cipiko, a landowner from Trogir, to protect the locals from the attacks from land or sea. To increase the level of defense, he had built the high walls from the land - side. By a drawbridge on the northern side, passage was enabled to the very palace. In the same time, its purpose was to disable any invader from the land to the fortress. In case of danger, inhabitants of the tower were always able to escape by boat to the nearby islands of Ciovo or Solta.
