Town Imotski

Town Imotski is famous tourist centre of dalmatian hinterland Rural Tourism and it is situated in mountain Biokovo and Makarska riviera hinterland, to which there is 25 km air and 80 km road line. Town Imotski is administative, traffic, commercial and tourist centre of Imotski province. In its history town Imotski had significant role, because all roads from Turkish empire to Venetian republic, from Bosnia to Dalmatia and Poljica republic and from hinterland to sea, have been passing by. Tobacco growing, viticulture, agriculture, cattle breeding, traffic, trade and crafts have been main activities of Imotski Province inhabitants. Town Imotski has changed many rulers and authorities: From Turks, whom they have been liberated from until 1717 th year, Venetians to French and Austrians, who have left sifnificant mark to present town and province. In recent times, Town Imotski is famous Tourist Town after developed agriculture, wine production in fertile Imotski Field and beautiful nature. In its vicinity there are numerous rural houses, which offer Rural Tourism services, natural phenomena of karst lakes: Red and blue lake, in which during hot summer inhabitants are swimming and beautiful Trebizat river. After the modern highway from town Split to town Ravca has been built, growing number of guests and tourists are coming to Imotski province, so they could enjoy in rural houses, domestic food, beautiful nature and rural environment.
