National park Kornati Croatia

National park Kornati Croatia is archipelago which is situated in central western part of Croatia, about 9 nm west of town Murter and about 20 nm west of town Šibenik, and it has been proclaimed as national park in year 1980. About 90.000 tourists a year are visiting National park Kornati Croatia. Archipelago Kornati consists of 150 islands with surface of 320 km2, of which to National park Kornati Croatia belongs 89 islands with surface of 220 km2. Largest island is Kornat with surface of 32 km2, 25 km long and 2,5 km wide, with only two hamlets Lucica and Vrulje. Kornati are Densest Archipelago in Mediterranean and it is situated in waters between islands Dugi otok, Pasman, Murter and Zirje. National Park Kornati Croatia has rich flora and fauna, specially it has large number of various fish. It is very interesting, that former inhabitants from hamlets Lucica and Vrulje on island Kornat and surrounding towns on islands and mainland have kept here sheeps and goats on pastures enclosed by Drywalls even 70 km long. For untouched nature, numerous islands, cliffs, beauty and clear sea, national park Kornati is paradise for excursionists, guests, tourists and sailors who are coming here with their boats so they could admire to this beauty of Adriatic islands.
